Principal's Report

Canberra
Last week, I had the privilege of joining our Grade 6 students on their trip to Canberra. Our students were exceptional ambassadors for our school, conducting themselves with maturity, kindness, and enthusiasm throughout the week. They were truly a credit to both their families and our school community.
While the primary focus of the trip was learning about our nation’s capital and gaining a deeper understanding of the democratic process, it also provided an incredible opportunity for personal growth. For many students, it was their first extended time away from home and family — a milestone that brought new challenges and rewards.
Throughout the week, we paused often to reflect on the many “God moments” we experienced and to celebrate the growth we witnessed in our students each day.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff who supported our students with such care and dedication:
- Mr Stephen Brook, who stepped in at the last moment for Mr Ethan Brighella
- Mrs Katherine Dobbie
- Mrs Alison Wheatley
- Mrs Jade Vecchione
- Mrs Emma Lucas
Special thanks also to Mr Ethan Brighella and our Administration team for their thorough preparation and behind-the-scenes work to ensure the trip was such a success. Photo gallery below.
Congratulations to Our Young Performers!
Congratulations to all of our students from Prep to Grade 2 who performed at our special Music Assembly on Tuesday!
Our students showcased a wonderful variety of performances, including instrumental pieces and choir songs, all delivered to a packed house of proud parents, grandparents, and special guests.
A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Louise Volkmann for her outstanding preparation and dedication across all the different class performances. Her work gave our students the valuable opportunity to experience performing in front of a live audience.
Thank you also to our fantastic emcees: Wilbur Westphalen Brown, Violet Johnston, Maya Monson, and Hugh Lucas! Please see the photo gallery below.
Athletics Carnival
Yesterday our Athletics Carnival at the Domain Athletic Centre was an outstanding success. The weather was perfect—warm, sunny, and calm—creating the ideal setting for an exciting day of track and field events. A large number of parents and guardians came along to cheer and support the students, adding to the wonderful atmosphere. The enthusiasm and effort from all competitors made the day enjoyable and memorable. We extend our heartfelt thanks to MacKillop Catholic School for sending their students to assist with the events and tabloid activities. We are also deeply grateful to the parents and guardians who generously helped. Photo gallery below.
Scores were as follows:
First Place - Flynn - 388
Second Place - Presentation - 329
Third Place - Rogers - 326

Religious Education
Prep Green
This term, we have been learning about how each one of us is precious, unique, and loved by God. We’ve explored how, even though we are all different in some ways and the same in others, every person is special. It doesn’t matter what we look like, what we’re good at, or even if we’ve made mistakes—God loves us just as we are. We are all treasures in His eyes!

Father’s Day Gathering and Whole School Lantern Award
Last Friday, our school community gathered for a very special afternoon of fun and celebration. We were delighted to welcome such a wonderful turnout of dads, grandfathers, uncles, and invited guests who joined us for our Lantern Reward and Father’s Day activities.
The oval came alive with laughter, healthy competition, and plenty of smiles as students and families took part in a range of activities, including Tunnel Ball, footy, Tug of War, and many more. The joy and enthusiasm of everyone involved made the afternoon truly memorable.
We are especially grateful to all our helpers—particularly our amazing Sausage Sizzle cooks—who ensured that everyone was well-fed and happy. The sense of community was palpable, and the afternoon was a resounding success, filled with fun, gratitude, and connection.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support and celebrate with us. We are blessed to share these moments as a school family.

First Eucharist

Congratulations Hamish and Zac
We warmly congratulate Hamish Davie and Zac Casillan, who recently received the Eucharist for the very first time. Surrounded by the love of their families and the support of our parish community, the boys celebrated this important step as they concluded their Sacramental journey.
We keep Hamish and Zac in our prayers and encourage everyone to continue supporting them as they are nourished by the Eucharist—the true fuel for their ongoing spiritual journey

Art News
Spring has sprung in the Art Room with our grade 5/6 students using their observation skills to focus on the work of Australian Artist Jess Watts. Her work is inspired by native Australian flora and fauna. Her ‘Pretty Boy’ Budgie collection was the inspiration for our Spring Display.

Meanwhile our 1/2 students looked at the work of Vincent Van Gogh and with the inspiration of his ‘The Starry Night’ painting we created these amazing ‘Starry Night over Kunanyi’ works of art!
