Principal's Report
Humility is not thinking less of yourself, its thinking of yourself less
Lent
This week we celebrate Ash Wednesday which signifies the beginning of the season of Lent.
Lent is a 40-day season of preparation before Easter. It is a time where we are asked to reflect on our lives and on our relationship with God and others.
During Lent we are asked to try to find time in our busy lives to stop, reflect and pray.
“What are you giving up for Lent?” is a question that you often hear at this time of the year. The whole idea of fasting and making sacrifices or “giving things up” during Lent is a way to try to simplify our lives a little and to discover what really matters.
At St Cuthbert’s we have also spoken to our students about Lent being a time of giving, particularly of ourselves. Giving of ourselves may simply mean making the effort to be more understanding, more inclusive, more welcoming and more willing to extend a small kindness to those around us.
This Lent we pray for the courage and strength to change and simplify our lives so that we can present the face of Christ to all we meet in our community on a daily basis.
Swimming Carnival
Well done to all the students who competed in the St Cuthbert's Swimming Carnival at the Clarence Aquatic Centre. The students participated in their droves and I think we had the most entrants of any swim carnival ever. We now look forward to the announcement of the STCPSSA team and that carnival will be held on Friday the 28th March 2025 at the Domain Aquatic Centre from 0920 - 1130. A special thanks to MacKillop Catholic College for their wonderful support at the Swim Carnival. They were wonderful ambassadors for their school. Thank you also to the Parents and Guardians who once again gave up their time to help with the carnival. Very much appreciated.
Medication Protocols
A reminder to parents and guardians that if students need to take medication at school, all medicines need to be handed into the school office by an adult. All medications, including over the counter products, must be supplied in their original containers/packaging, plus have a dispensary label attached. Your assistance with this is greatly appreciated.
