Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Guardians
Happy St Patrick’s Day
We have a longheld tradition of celebrating St Patrick’s Day at St Cuthbert’s and this year was no exception. Thank you to everyone for dressing up in the green and getting into the spirit of the day. A special mention to Nora Lilley from Prep Blue for her beautiful Irish Dancing!
School Effectiveness Surveys
This year, St Cuthbert’s Catholic School has entered a discernment phase of School Effectiveness, to develop our strategic priorities over the next four-year period. As part of this initiative, Insight SRC is conducting surveys among students, parents, and staff on behalf of St Cuthbert’s and Catholic Education Tasmania. This effort aims to better understand perceptions from all stakeholders and gather valuable insights into our current environment. Your open and honest feedback is crucial in helping us reflect on our present state and effectively plan for the future. Please take the time to share your insights, an opportunity to shape our path forward together. Information will be distributed from next week.
Swimming Carnival Results
Congratulations to Presentation House for being the winning team at this year’s Swimming Carnival.
On Friday a team of 28 students will represent St Cuthbert’s at the STCPSSA Swimming Carnival at the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre. The Carnival will be held from 9:20 am - 11:30 am and the St. Cuthbert’s Team will be competing in the lanya Division (old Blue Division). We know our team will do us proud!
Harmony Day
Harmony Day is a special occasion that we always look forward to celebrating as a school community. It is a time to embrace and appreciate the rich diversity that makes our school such a wonderful place.
Due to a very busy schedule this week, including NAPLAN and St Patrick’s Day, we have made the decision to postpone our Harmony Day celebration to Friday, 2nd May (Term 2). This will allow us to give the event the focus and recognition it deserves.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to coming together in Term 2 to celebrate inclusivity, respect, and belonging. More details will be shared closer to the date.
Term 1 ReminderPlease note the last day for Term 1 is Thursday 10th April 2025. Friday 11th April is a student free day.
Pick Up/Drop Off
Could all parents and guardians please comply to the following protocols in regards to the pick-up and drop off of students at St Cuthbert’s Catholic School:
- Please arrive no earlier than 3pm to collect children from the pick up zone.
- Please ensure that the NO PARKING zone that is sign-posted outside the school on Corinna Road is strictly observed. This is a drop-off/pick-up zone only.
- Cars must not be left unattended in the zone.
- Parents are asked to drive around the block if they cannot see their child ready to be picked up.
- At pick-up time all drivers please enter Corinna Road from Lincoln Street and exit at Lowanna Rd (essentially making Corinna Road one way at this time of the day).
- There is no parent parking in the cul-de-sac in Moirunna Road near the Kindergarten and Prep classrooms.
- Please be respectful and courteous to our neighbours by not parking over driveways.
- Please ensure when entering any of our school gates that you ensure you close it behind you. This poses a safety risk to our students when these are left open.
We appreciate your assistance with these requests.
