Extra-Curricular Activities

St Cuthbert's offers opportunities for its students to participate in a range of extra-curricular activities.

Students have the opportunity to enter academic competitions to showcase their enthusiasm for learning.

LANGUAGES

Students are prepared for their role as global citizens through access to other languages and cultures as part of our Languages other than English program.

St Cuthbert's offers Indonesian to students from Grade 1 to Grade 6. Students spend time each week furthering their learning of the culture and language of Indonesia.

From 2019, your child will have the opportunity to participate in the Asian Education Foundation's Bridge School program. BRIDGE is an international program that establishes school partnerships between students, teachers and school communities.

BRIDGE students collaborate on projects, practice language skills and develop lifelong friendships with students at their partner school. BRIDGE also supports teachers to use technology to open their classrooms to the world.

ARTS

Our pursuit of the arts culminates in a variety of student performances at various times throughout the year. Music classes are offered weekly on Tuesday and Thursday for students to engage in music theory and practice. Students from Grades 5 and 6 may join the Instrumental Group. This Group meets weekly to learn and practice performance using a range of instruments.

CHOIR

Students from Grades 3-6 are invited to join the Choir. This Choir meets weekly to practice a range of classical and modern songs for performances at school assemblies, eisteddfods and on other special occasions.

SPORT

Our students compete in school-based, interschool and community sporting competitions. All participation in teams is supported by a code of behaviour which encourages friendly participation, good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for umpires, coaches and managers.

Currently all children from Prep to Grade 6 participate in a Swimming Program run by qualified instructors. The cost of the program is covered through the payment of school levies.
